The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service or we) amends 50 CFR 20.21(j) to grant temporary approval of tin shot as nontoxic for hunting waterfowl and coots during the 20002001 season only. Acute toxicity studies revealed no adverse effects over a 30day period on mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) dosed with tin shot. Reproductive/chronic toxicity
