Service Standards

Publication of these new service standard regulations is a first step that allows the Postal Service to turn its attention to the requirements of section 302 of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. The full extent of any realignment of the postal mail processing and transportation network to achieve these standards cannot be known until the Postal Service develops the plan required by Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act section 302. Thus, there will be a lag between the publication of these service standards and implementation of the related operational changes necessary to support them.
