Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Antitrust Procedures and Penalties Act, 15 U.S.C. 16(b)(h), that a proposed Final Judgment and Competitive Impact Statement have been filed with the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in United States v. Vulcan Materials Co., et al., Civil Action No. 1:07cv2044. On November 13, 2007, the United States filed a Complaint to obtain equitable and other relief against defendants Vulcan Materials Company (``Vulcan'') and Florida Rock Industries, Inc. (``Florida Rock'') to prevent Vulcan's proposed acquisition of Florida Rock. The Complaint alleges that Vulcan's acquisition of Florida Rock would substantially lessen competition in the production, distribution, and sale of coarse aggregate in and around Atlanta, Georgia; Columbus, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and South Hampton Roads, Virginia, in violation of Section 7 of the Clayton Act, as amended, 15 U.S.C. 18.
