Notice of Availability of a Pest Risk Analysis for the Importation of Dropwort Leaves With Stems From South Korea

We are advising the public that we have prepared a pest risk analysis that evaluates the risks associated with the importation of dropwort leaves with stems from South Korea into the continental United States. Based on that analysis, we believe that the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds via the importation of dropwort leaves with stems from South Korea. We are making the pest risk analysis available for review and comment.

Umatilla National Forest, Grant County, Oregon; Farley Analysis Area Vegetation Management Project

The U.S. Department Agriculture--Forest Service proposes to conduct vegetation management activities on approximately 167,500 acres of upland forest sites in the Farley Analysis Area to restore sustainable forest conditions in the Desolation Creek watershed. The proposed action will use a range of mechanical harvest and nonharvest thinning and prescribed fire activities to alter species composition, stand structure, and fire regime condition class to recreate conditions that are consistent with the historic range of variably for forests of the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon, and to capture the commercial value of forest raw materials for the benefit of local economies.
