This notice advises that we, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

(Service), intend to gather information necessary to prepare a comprehensive conservation plan (plan) and environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge, including UL Bend National Wildlife Refuge (UL Bend is a refuge within a refuge), located in northcentral Montana. We are furnishing this notice in compliance with Service Refuge Planning policy to advise other agencies and the public of our intentions, and to obtain suggestions and information on the scope of issues to be considered in the planning process.

Notice of Proposed Withdrawal Extension and Opportunity for Public Meeting; Montana

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service, the Secretary of the Interior proposes to extend Public Land Order No. 6669 for an additional 20year period. The order withdrew National Forest System land from mining to protect the Lincoln Gulch Historic Site. This notice also gives an opportunity to comment on the proposed action and to request a public meeting. The land has been and will remain open to the appropriate forms of surface entry and mineral leasing.
