  <description><![CDATA[ The Federal Investigative Services Division (FISD), U.S. 
Office of Personnel Management (OPM) offers the general public and 
other Federal agencies the opportunity to comment on an expiring 
information collection request (ICR), Office of Management and Budget 
(OMB) Control No. 32060165, for the General Request for Investigative 
Information (INV 40), the Investigative Request for Employment Data and 
Supervisor Information (INV 41), the Investigative Request for Personal 
Information (INV 42), the Investigative Request for Educational 
Registrar and Dean of Students Record Data (INV 43), and the  Investigative Request for Law Enforcement Data (INV 44).</p><p>    As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, (Pub. L. 104
13, 44 U.S.C. chapter 35) as amended by the ClingerCohen Act (Pub. L. 
104106), OPM is soliciting comments for this collection. The Office of

Personnel Records ]]></title>

  <description><![CDATA[ The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) hereby withdraws a 
notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) regarding Personnel Records, 
published in the Federal Register January 18, 2008. OPM has determined 
withdrawal of the NPRM is appropriate as it would be impractical to 
issue this rule without the existence of a Governmentwide employee 
identifier.

L. 10413, May 22, 1995), this notice announces that the Office of 
Personnel Management (OPM) intends to submit to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) a request for review of a currently 
approved information collection. ``Survivor Annuity Election for a 
Spouse'' (OMB Control No. 32060174; Form RI 2063), is used by 
annuitants to elect a reduced annuity with a survivor annuity for their 
spouse. (OMB Control No. 32060174; Form RI 20116) is a cover letter 
for RI 2063 giving information about the cost to elect less than the 
maximum survivor annuity. This letter may be used to decline to elect. 
(OMB Control No. 32060174; RI 20117) is a cover letter for RI 2063 
giving information about the cost to elect the maximum survivor 
annuity. This letter may be used to ask for more information or to  decline to elect.</p><p>    RI 20117 is accompanied by RI 2063A, Information on Electing a

to collect information from retirees who become employed in Government 
positions. Agencies need to collect timely information regarding the 
type and amount of annuity being received so the correct rate of pay 
can be determined. Agencies provide this information to OPM so a 
determination can be made whether the reemployed retiree's annuity must  be terminated.</p><p>    Comments are particularly invited on: Whether this collection of 
information is necessary for the proper performance of functions of the 
Office of Personnel Management, and whether it will have practical
